Greetings all !
What an "eventfool" 2~3 months.We have our own space tourist,we have an option to buy some heap of scrap that went to space and back(wow-I can imagine that "space craft" being nicked from the exhibition site by some scrap metal "vendors")(That will definitely start a new task force to monitor and regulate all the enterprising scrappers going around nicking public property).
Then we had "OPS Siakap the 7th or 8th" .We've had so many that I've lost count-maybe we need another task force to monitor these things?
Then we had BERSIH....that was way cool-I admire those who attended/participated,cos I, for one do not have enuff gonads to partake in such a noble endeavour,maybe I will someday.......

Sorry about the ramblings,this is afterall supposed to be a blog about cars and all related topics....but I can't help it! I've been banished to the Jungles of the Malaysian Auto HubCap(now Isuzu wants to make hubcaps here too !)

Minister quits to focus on Le Mans

Britain's defence minister Lord Paul Drayson has taken a leave of absence from government to pursue his dream of racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Drayson competed in the British GT championship this year, where he finished third in the drivers' standings at the wheel of a bio-ethanol-powered Aston Martin DBRS9 for Barwell Motorsport.

The 47-year-old will compete in the American Le Mans Series next year, as success in that championship is one way of teams gaining at entry for the 24-hour race in June.

In a letter to Prime Minister Gordon Brown, published by the BBC website, Drayson explained that he had a passion for motor racing.

"A number of special circumstances have now presented me with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," he said in the letter.

"I have the opportunity to race next year in the American Le Mans Series in the US, a key step towards my eventual dream of success in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

"Unfortunately it cannot be combined with the challenge of full-time government office."

Drayson's position in government is an unpaid post, and the BBC reported that Gordon Brown understood Drayson's decision.

"I understand your desire to take up the extraordinary opportunity which has now emerged to achieve your great life's ambition," the Prime Minister wrote to Drayson.

"I look forward to your return to government when your leave of absence ends."

I guess you'll never see this sorta thing happening here....well,then again why should it?All our goverment servants are paid a salary and allowances and enjoy many many perks and....so on and so forth.......

Moanings of the Day !

Greetings once again.I trust all of you had a very productive week,being week 26 of 2007.Wow-that's half of the year gone by.I'd like to moan about the state of our local content or local parts development in Malaysia.(or the serious lack of it is more like it) Do anyone of you ever realize how it is nearly impossible to get any automotive component developed?? And we have our national oil company posting higher profits every year.Won't it be better if just a percentage of that is channeled back into the country and assist in the development of Motorsports?event sponsorships? and whatever else?What do they do instead?They pay BMW and Peter Sauber to go racing in F1. Or buy expensive works race cars,or help Foggy run his Race team.What have we gained from all this? Come on la PETRONAS,lets see you guys do something for all Malaysians. Lend a hand to Karamjit or sponsor some grassroot race event like the Proton Championship or even Rally of Malaysia.
Instead,we spend bucket loads of taxpayers ringgits to host F1 in our country,on our track(that is in a sorry state) and now Bernie wants us to spend more!Please la...we can gain sooo much from all this but.......haiyaaa.....its frustrating to moan about this but whatthaheck.....

Goood evening to all you petrol and dieselheads out there...I've been influenced by my crazy wife to start a blog.Well,to start with,I am a self confessed auto maniac,though it doesn't show that much now.Its gotten a little disheartening to be in the Malaysian auto industry.We need to wake up and get on with it.We have people taking about having our own GT Race team?Well helooooooo wake up la and please take a whiff of fresh petrol.....

Anyways,this is my first posting and I'd rather not moan too much just yet !
